Chameleon

Wind Ensemble
(2021)
Chameleon is a piece born out of spontaneity, featuring a wild, leaping melodic line with ever-changing time signatures. Its chaotic movements brought to mind a kaleidoscope, twisting and turning with an array of colors. Despite its complex structure, the piece maintains a relatively straightforward musical form. Originally, it was called "zett," a nonsensical word that matched the articulation of the first note. This was later changed to "tipsy," which described the uneven dance-like feel of certain parts. Ultimately, the title "chameleon" was chosen, capturing the colorful and comical nature of the piece, although the name's ambiguity remains.
